Your checkout scripts have a deadline.
Most merchants won't notice until it's too late.
Shopify is removing Additional Scripts and checkout.liquid customizations for non-Plus stores. Tracking pixels, affiliate code, and custom checkout logic get deleted — not migrated. Orders keep processing normally. Nothing tells you it broke.

What's actually happening
August 26, 2026 isn't a warning. It's a deletion.
Shopify has told non-Plus merchants that this is the deadline to upgrade. After that date, anything you've pasted into Additional Scripts or checkout.liquid is automatically removed — not paused, not migrated.
Tracking pixels
Google Ads, Meta, GA4, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Microsoft UET.
Affiliate scripts
Commission tracking that runs on your Thank You / Order Status page.
Custom JS
Redirects, on-page widgets, DOM manipulation you built or paid for.
The dangerous part isn't the deadline. It's that nothing tells you when it hits.
Orders keep processing normally. There's no error, no warning banner. Most merchants won't notice until their ad numbers or affiliate payouts look wrong — weeks later.
This isn't hypothetical. Merchants have already hit this exact wall in Shopify's own community forums — flagging broken custom checkout scripts with no working fix in sight.
Worth knowing: Shopify has moved deadlines like this before — a related Shopify Scripts cutoff shifted from August 2025 to June 2026. We wouldn't bet everything on this exact date holding. But the underlying change is coming either way, and finding out now costs nothing.
Wherever you're starting from
Before the deadline
Your Additional Scripts are still live and you haven't touched them. Run a free scan now, see exactly what's in there, and migrate on your schedule instead of finding out the hard way.
After the deadline
Your scripts already got removed and something's off — ad numbers don't match, affiliate partners are asking questions, a widget vanished. Same fix applies: scan what used to be there, and rebuild what's rebuildable.
How it works
Install & scan
Free, read-only. Scans your Additional Scripts and checkout.liquid.
Get a plain-English report
Every script explained — what it is, what it does, standard pixel or custom logic.
Review the proposed fix
Standard pixels migrate one-click. Custom logic gets an AI-drafted replacement in an editable form.
Approve & apply
Nothing goes live until you approve it. Anything unfixable gets an honest report instead of a guess.
Heads up: pixels installed through Shopify's native Customer Events menu aren't visible to any external scanner, including ours. We tell you that directly, and walk you through a short guided check to confirm those too — instead of pretending we caught everything.
Simple, one-time pricing
This is a fix-it-once problem. So it's a fix-it-once price — not an ongoing subscription for a deadline-driven problem.

One-time
$99 once
Pay once, fix what's fixable, get an honest report on what isn't.
- ✓One-click migration for standard pixels to Shopify's Web Pixels API
- ✓AI-drafted replacement for custom script logic (checkout banner/CTA block or order-triggered automation)
- ✓You review an editable, prefilled form — nothing auto-applied to your live checkout
- ✓Honest per-script residue report for anything that can't be migrated, and why
One-time. Not a subscription.
Coming soon: optional ongoing pixel monitoring ($9–15/mo), so you'd know immediately if something breaks later. Opt-in, offered after your migration is done — never required upfront.
What we can't fix — and why
These aren't gaps in effort. They're limits Shopify puts on every app running in checkout, including ours. We'd rather tell you upfront than let you find out after you've paid.
Silent mid-checkout redirects
Shopify bans this outright, for every app — no exceptions.
Live or remote data
The checkout sandbox can't fetch external data in real time. A discount pulled live from your CRM becomes static text, or moves to email instead.
Restyling or hiding native checkout fields
Shopify doesn't expose those elements to any extension, ours included.
Minified or unknown-origin scripts
If nobody can tell what it's for, we won't guess.
Genuinely novel one-off logic
Flagged for human review rather than auto-converted into something that might be wrong.
When something can't be migrated, you get a clear report: what the script did, why it can't be auto-fixed, and exactly what to hand a developer if you need one.
Why merchants use ScriptSafe over a generic pixel scanner
Handles more than pixels
Most scanners stop at standard tracking pixels. ScriptSafe reads your custom JS too — redirects, widgets, DOM logic — and proposes a real replacement instead of shrugging.
Upfront about blind spots
Pixels installed through Shopify's native Customer Events menu aren't visible to any scanner. We say so directly and walk you through confirming them manually, instead of quietly missing them.
You review everything
Every proposed fix lands in an editable form first. Nothing touches your live checkout without your approval.
Pay once
This is a fix-it-once problem, not a subscription. $99 gets the migration done; monitoring afterward is optional, not required.
How your data is handled
- ✓Every shop's data is isolated from every other shop's.
- ✓Any outbound calls to your own systems are HTTPS-only and SSRF-guarded.
- ✓We implement Shopify's GDPR data-request and redaction webhooks — see our privacy policy for specifics.
- ✓Nothing is applied to your live checkout without you reviewing it first.
Frequently asked questions
Is August 26, 2026 definitely the date?+
It's what Shopify currently states for non-Plus stores. Shopify has moved similar deadlines before — a related Shopify Scripts cutoff shifted from August 2025 to June 2026 — so treat the exact date as directional, not gospel. The underlying migration is coming regardless, and scanning now costs nothing.
What if I already passed the deadline?+
The same scan works either way. If your scripts were already removed, we scan what's left of your setup, explain what likely broke, and help you rebuild whatever's rebuildable.
Is $99 a subscription?+
No — it's a one-time charge for the migration. An optional ongoing monitoring add-on is planned for later, priced separately, and will always be opt-in.
Will everything get migrated?+
Most standard pixels, and a lot of custom logic. Some things are blocked by Shopify's own checkout rules, not by effort — see “What we can't fix” below. For those, you get an honest report instead of a false “done.”
Can you see pixels installed through Shopify's Customer Events menu?+
Not through scanning alone — no external tool can see those. We're upfront about that and walk you through a short guided check to confirm them too, instead of quietly missing them.
Do you sell or share my data?+
No. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what's collected, why, and who it's shared with.
